Der Klassiker: Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund
Germany's defining rivalry is a relatively modern creation. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund first met in the Bundesliga in 1965, but the fixture only became a true rivalry in the 1990s — and reached its peak during Jürgen Klopp's electric tenure at Dortmund from 2008 to 2015.
